NENEH ON TROUBLE MAN:
"That song was part
of the Marvin Gaye tribute project. I was asked to do it and I had no
choice but to cover a Marvin Gaye song (laughs)... They wouldn't have
accepted Frank Sinatra. And Trouble Man, I think it was about time that a
woman took on those lyrics and we felt that we could do it as a group. So
myself and Booga Bear did that with Mark Saunders who was actually working
together with Tricky and I had been working with him with Tricky, so
that's how that came about. The beauty of covering a song is finding the
way that you can do it, your own language within that song. So it's always
quite a fun challenge... I always thought that the lyric was "I've
come apart". But it is "I've come up hard". And I was just
like I take that lyric and sing it, I like that."
